Banrock Station Project

In partnership with Australian Wildlife Conservancy, we are revegetating and enhancing severely degraded Drooping Sheoak Woodlands on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. This project will provide habitat for the regionally threatened Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat.

Project Update July 2016

Landcare Australia’s delivery targets for Stage 1 of the Banrock Station revegetation project have been completed for 2016. In 2016, Landcare Australia achieved the following outcomes:

100 kg

of locally sourced seed collected

34 ha of River Red Gum Flood Plain

vegetation communities seeded

200 km (100 ha)

of direct seeding completed

37 local species

sown across two vegetation communities

66 ha of Mallee

vegetation communities seeded

One month post seeding

germination is already occurring on site
