The National Landcare Directory (NLD) is an online directory of community environmental ‘care’ groups across Australia who are working in their local community on environmental conservation and sustainable land management activities.


The NLD is a community led website where groups and organisations add their details and keep their information updated. There are thousands of landcare groups and other environmental groups across Australia, so this is a great starting point to find a group to join near you. Please note, not all groups are published on the NLD but we are encouraging as many groups as possible to be listed in the directory.

You can select a group by segment:

  • Landcare (Bushcare, ‘Friends of’, farmers, farming systems groups, landholders, Rivercare, and other community groups)
  • Coastcare (Dunecare and other coastal community groups)
  • First Nations (Traditional Owners, First Nations organisations)
  • Junior Landcare (early learning centres, primary and secondary schools, youth groups, Scouts and Guides)
  • Young Adult (Intrepid Landcare, Co-Exist Australia and other young adult groups)
  • Other (community gardens and nurseries, researchers and academics, NRM organisations, community organisations focused on sustainable land management)
