The Landcare Youth Summit Webinar provides an opportunity to hear from two Adelaide teens – Skye Dunn, 16 and Saskia Gerhardy, all members of South Australia’s YACCA (Youth & Community in Conservation Action).

They will share insights from the speakers and students at the Landcare Youth Summit, held on December 1. The 45 minute webinar will be hosted by Landcare Ambassador Sophie Taylor-Price and will include a discussion on how we can arm the next generation with the knowledge, tools and ideas to preserve this unique landscape by taking action with Landcare.

Date: Thursday, 3 December

Time: 4pm (AEDT)

Adelaide teen Skye Dunn, 16 – member of South Australia’s YACCA (Youth & Community in Conservation Action) – is keen to see Landcare thrive throughout the younger generations.

Involved in Landcare activities since age 12, Skye believe young people have the time and energy to make a difference, whether it’s volunteering at local environmental groups, planting days or beach clean-ups.

Amongst varied projects with YACCA, Skye is currently planning a community engagement event (night walk) at the Aldinga Washpool, an important cultural and environmental site recently impacted by the Black Summer bushfires.

Skye also work closely with organisers on two YACCA groups a week for (14-10yr olds) and (5-10yr olds).

She is planning on pursuing careers in environmental management, inspired by her work with Landcare and even working on a book about local biodiversity.
