2/6/2026 – Following another successful program in 2025, Bupa and Landcare Australia are pleased to announce the return of the Healthy Cities Landcare Grants Program for 2026 offering funding to support community groups and organisations across Australia to deliver native planting projects in urban and peri-urban areas.
Grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 (ex-GST) are available to a broad range of eligible applicants, including:
- Landcare groups, networks and other community-led environmental groups (e.g. Bushcare, ‘Friends of’, Coastcare, WildCare, Dunecare, youth organisations and similar groups)
- Local governments
- Natural resource management organisations
- Not-for-profit organisations, including those operating nationally
- Traditional Owners and First Nations organisations
- State and Territory Landcare organisations
In 2025, the program made a real difference for both communities and the environment, supporting the planting of 123,166 native trees, shrubs and groundcovers. The program also supported over 6,200 people to care for the environment nationwide. These projects brought people together to take part in hands-on environmental activities through 188 community events, that restored urban biodiversity and wildlife habitat, and contributed to more liveable, greener communities.
The Healthy Cities Landcare Grants Program forms part of Bupa’s Healthy Cities initiative, which is focused on improving outcomes for both people and the planet by supporting healthier environments and more connected communities.
Landcare Australia CEO, Dr Shane Norrish said,
“It’s incredibly rewarding to see this partnership with Bupa go from strength to strength. After another successful year delivering meaningful outcomes for communities across the country – including planting over 123,000 native trees, shrubs and groundcovers – we’re excited to build on that momentum in 2026. We’re proud to work alongside Bupa, whose ongoing commitment recognises the strong connection between healthy environments and healthy people, particularly in our urban communities.”
Bupa Asia Pacific Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, Roger Sharp said,
“While landcarers and community groups often operate at a local level, their impact can be far-reaching. Last year’s recipients highlight the powerful role Healthy Cities can play in supporting both environmental sustainability and community wellbeing. We’re excited to continue the program in 2026, helping to create and improve accessible green spaces that encourage people of all ages to get active, connect socially, and enjoy the benefits of nature. Supporting these grassroots efforts is a meaningful way for us to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives.”
Applications are open now and will close on Monday 13 July 2026, 5pm AEST. For more information about the Healthy Cities Landcare Grants Program 2026, click here.
