On 18 September 2019, The Hon. Lily D’Ambrosio MP, Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change and Minister for Solar Homes announced $451,149 in funding to support 128 projects through the 2019 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants.

Grants of up to $5,000 each (excl GST) will support Victorian primary and secondary schools; kindergartens; pre-schools; childcare centres; Scouts and Guides; and other youth groups, including: specialist schools, and groups working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Minister D’Ambrosio said, “These grants support projects that protect our natural environment at a grassroots level, as well as providing health and social benefits for young Victorians.”

The grants are one of multiple initiatives that support the vision and goals of Protecting Our Environment – Biodiversity 2037; Victoria’s plan to help stop the decline of our native plants and animals and improve the natural environment so it is healthy, valued and actively cared for.
