World Water Day

More

Water is the one thing most vital to sustaining life. That’s why World Water Day is held every year on the 22 March to call attention to that fact and bring more awareness to the importance of sustainably managing our precious freshwater resources. A campaign by UN Water, each year there is a different theme, with 2017’s being ‘Wastewater’.

According to the UN, “Farmers are increasingly looking into non-conventional water resources, mainly wastewater, whether due to its high nutrient content or lack of conventional water resources.” Wastewater can be a treasured resource for today’s farmers. To dive more into water and it connection to Landcare and agriculture, have a look back at May 2015’s edition of Landcare in Focus that was focussed entirely on water. http://landcareaustralia.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Landcare-in-Focus-May-2015.pdf
