Put your boss on the edge for World Environment Day

Support World Environment Day on Tuesday 5 June 2018 by helping restore habitats for Aussie wildlife.

Landcare has partnered with Edge Pledge to offer you an opportunity to pick a fun challenge for your boss, colleague, friend – or even yourself – and put them over the edge: all in the name of our natural environment and Aussie wildlife.

You can now do something fun to make a difference for our wildlife on the edge. Bungee jump from a great height, skydive from a plane, swim with sharks, or simply wear a bandana for a day. These are just a few of the suggested challenges to put your boss, or yourself on the edge and raise funds to support habitat restoration projects for our Aussie wildlife.

As usual, our mates in the Landcare community are finding more ways to reverse the damage already done.

How it works:

  • Ask your boss, colleague, friend – or even yourself – to agree to take on a challenge
  • Help them pick three challenges they’re willing to do
  • Encourage colleagues and friends to vote
  • Raise funds for the wildlife project chosen.

Get hands on with Landcare Week (3-9 September)

Every year, the first full week in September is the time for all Australians to come together and recognise the efforts of the over 100,000 volunteers who dedicate their valuable time to care for our treasured land, water, and native Aussie species.

Hundreds of Landcare groups across the country will be organising events and activities to participate in the annual celebration.

During the week, a series of corporate employee volunteering events are taking place in capital cities throughout Australia.

Your organisation is invited to register a team of employees to take part in an event which involves Landcare activities, lunch, and a certificate/prize presentation.

Last year, over 130 volunteers from 10 companies lent a hand at various Landcare events in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth. Back by popular demand, we plan to add Brisbane to the list this year.

Please contact [email protected] if you would like to register your interest in getting hands on with Landcare Australia in Landcare Week 2018.

10-12 October National Landcare Conference and Awards

As the largest knowledge sharing event for the Landcare community, the biennial National Landcare Conference and Awards attracts a variety of delegates from across Australia — with one thing in common: a passion for caring for the land. Over 650 delegates attended the 2016 Conference and over 3 million people were reached by the media campaign associated with the event.
