Corporate Environmental Volunteering

Corporate environmental volunteering offers multiple benefits for employees.

Volunteering offers many benefits, including opportunities for your employees to:

  • gain new skills and knowledge
  • enjoy a sense of achievement and fulfillment
  • develop personally and boost self-esteem
  • connect with and better understand their community.

The 2021 KPMG report Building resilience in local communities: The wellbeing benefits of participating in Landcare suggest substantial improvements in wellbeing owing to involvement in landcare.

Landcare Australia’s Corporate Environmental Volunteering program not only offers you a meaningful landcare project for your employees to deliver positive environmental outcomes, it’s also a great way to build teams and increase staff engagement within the workplace.

Landcare Australia has more than 20 years of experience running successful and impactful corporate volunteering days. In that time, we have worked with thousands of corporate volunteers from companies like KPMG, CHEP, Deutsche Bank, General Mills, Konica Minolta, Lion, Manheim, nbn ®, and Transurban who have participated in volunteering days across all capital cities. Volunteers have propagated and planted thousands of trees and plants, cleaned up beaches, learnt about land management from First Nations peoples, participated in citizen science activities, and removed tons of weeds across Australia. Depending on the site location, current Landcare activities and the natural resource management plan of the area, your team could be involved in planting, mulching and weeding, plant propagation, seed collection, cultural heritage restoration, or general site maintenance and bush regeneration activities.

Corporate teams leave from their Landcare volunteering day with a better understanding of biodiversity, the environment in their local area, and how their activities at home and work can impact our fragile environment.

Volunteering days generally run from 9:30am to 2:30pm. You will be greeted by experienced landcare groups who will cover all safety precautions, provide instruction on all tasks, and share knowledge about the local environment and biodiversity.

No experience needed, just bring a can-do attitude and be willing to get your hands dirty.
A regular event might run as follows:

09:15 Arrival and sign in.
09:30 Welcome, Acknowledgment of Country, Site induction and WH&S,
