Think globally, act locally with landcare and make a difference

Landcare has evolved from rural groups and farming communities to a national network of environmental organisations in cities, urban areas, and along the coast. Thousands of people are coming together through landcare and other community-led environmental groups to find solutions to issues in their community.

As one of the best conservation charities in Australia, we believe everyone can play a part. Whether you have time to volunteer with a local group, encourage your workplace to support climate change charities, or take small actions at home, landcare is for everyone. We’ve put together a few ideas to help you get involved with environmental non-profits and be part of the landcare movement.

How to Get Involved in Landcare

Get involved with your local group and learn about local issues in your community. We know people lead busy lives, however, there are many ways to support landcare groups and Australian conservation charities that may work for you. We have created a list of ideas to help you be a "landcarer" at home, at work, or with your local environmental community group.

Events and Campaign Calendar

Get organised with Landcare Australia’s Campaign and Events calendar. This list outlines dates for the various Landcare Awards, National Landcare Conferences, and campaigns for nature charities and organisations. Plus! You can promote your group events on the National Landcare Events Calendar hosted on the Landcarer portaland by listing your activities, people can find your event to volunteer for ethical charities and environmental causes.

Find or Register a Group

The National Landcare Directory (NLD) is an online directory of ‘care' groups working on environmental conservation and sustainable land management. With thousands of landcare, bushcare and environmental groups listed, this is a great starting point to find one near you and get involved with the local community. We have made it easy for you to find a group, register a group, or remove a group.
