In 2019, Landcare Australia partnered with CHEP Australia to deliver strategic projects that create value for CHEP’s supply chain partners, the environment and regional communities.

The partnership seeks to demonstrate the shared commitment of both organisations to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and to contribute positively to the community.

In September 2020, a $60,000 CHEP Land Management and Sustainable Agriculture Landcare Grant was awarded to the Upper Snowy Landcare Network for a project to plant 4,500 native trees and shrubs to restore the foundation of an endangered woodland.  The project, scheduled for completion in June 2021, includes a planting day and community field day to demonstrate to landholders and community members best practice for tree planting under local conditions.

In February 2020, CHEP generously donated over $130,000 to the Landcare Australia Bushfire & Natural Disaster Recovery Fund whilst also encouraging CHEP employees to donate to support Landcare communities in areas affected by the devastating 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires. These funds represent a major contribution to the $300,000 in Landcare Australia Bushfire Recovery Grants distributed in May 2020 to 23 Landcare groups, community groups and land managers who are undertaking crucial bushfire recovery projects.

The partnership is delivering a range of positive outcomes including, natural habitat restoration, enhancing biodiversity and building resilience in Australia’s food and farming systems.

The partnership also offers meaningful volunteering opportunities for CHEP’s employees to join their local communities and regenerate the environment. All CHEP employees globally have three paid volunteering days per year to support causes that make a positive impact in the communities in which they operate.

CHEP, part of the Brambles’ Group, helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organisation on earth. In over 60 countries, its pallets, crates and containers form the invisible backbone of the global supply chain and the world’s biggest brands trust us to help them transport their goods more efficiently, sustainably and safely.
