Landcare Australia Bushfire Recovery Grants Program

In 2020, the Landcare Australia Bushfire Recovery Grants program awarded 23 grants valued at $307,212.00 (ex GST). The funding supported landcare groups, farmers and other community-led environmental groups located in bushfire affected areas across Australia with their bushfire recovery projects following the 2019/2020 Black Summer Bushfires.
The aim of the grants program was to support the urgent needs of the landcare community to restore essential wildlife habitat, shelterbelts and fences, protection of waterways, manage weeds and feral animals, work with Traditional Owner groups and First Nations organisations, and host local community workshops, amongst other recovery activities.
This grants program was made possible due to the extraordinary volume of donations from generous organisations and private donors from across the country and around the world, including our partners Brambles Chep, Bushman’s Tanks, Bloom Aid and Hawkes Brewing.
We would like to thank everyone for their incredible support. We would also like to send a special thanks to the passionate students of York Public School in South Penrith, NSW who arranged a bake sale and donated all the proceeds towards the Landcare Australia Bushfire Recovery program.
