Saturday 8 August 2026: The ACT Landcare Awards have named this year’s standout ACT achievers, recognising the outstanding contributions by locals from across the Territory to support the environment, agriculture and communities.
The ACT winners have been revealed during a ceremony at the National Portrait Gallery on 8 August.
These awards stand as a prestigious biennial national program that recognises individuals, groups and organisations involved in Landcare, who are making outstanding contributions to caring for the environment in their local communities for the benefit of all Australians today, and for generations to come.

“This year’s winners reflect the diversity and strength of the Landcare movement. They include community volunteers restoring local parks, farmers demonstrating sustainable land management, researchers and citizen scientists protecting threatened species, young people leading environmental action and individuals whose decades of service have shaped conservation outcomes across the ACT.”
He goes on to say, “Together they show that change happens when knowledge, collaboration and commitment are brought together in service of people, place and Country. Their efforts deliver lasting environmental, social and community benefits, helping to build resilient landscapes, stronger communities and a more sustainable future. We congratulate all award recipients and thank every nominee for their outstanding contribution.”

Winners of the State & Territory Landcare Award categories will go on to represent ACT at the National Landcare Awards to be held in September 2027 in Adelaide, South Australia.
