Still buzzing from the energy in the room after our Landcare Australia Corporate Partners Workshop in Melbourne.

It was a celebration of what can be achieved when Landcare Australia corporate partners with motivated and ambitious leaders strengthen connections between organisations committed to nature and communities and drive impact for the environment.

What stood out most was how diverse our partners are across industries and priorities, yet aligned on one thing: sustainability isn’t a competition. The consensus is that impact is achieved when we work together, not alone.

A few themes emerged on the day:

  • Longevity matters. Real environmental outcomes take time – short-term intentions need long-term commitment.
  • Multi-year funding works. It enables deeper impact, longer-term visions and more meaningful community partnerships.
  • Employees want participation, not observation. Volunteering and hands-on involvement builds internal champions and increases engagement.
  • Data is key. Moving from ‘nice to have’ initiatives to an integral part of business strategy and reporting delivers great results.
  • Mandatory reporting is an opportunity. Expectations around nature and climate provide the chance to embed nature-positive action into core strategy, backed by impactful, local delivery.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed so openly and enthusiastically – sharing real world challenges, swapping practical ideas and shaping solutions together. A special thanks to Sharon Beach for generously sharing AusNet’s experience as a Landcare Australia partner, and the benefits it provides to the business. Thank you to Krystin Dudley from Engie, Bronwyn Portes from Bupa and Belinda Keeffe from Asahi for an insightful panel discussion on internal buy-in, collaboration and strategy.

We were also lucky to hear from Natalie Somerville (Chair, First Nations Landcare Working Group and Landcare Australia Director) on the group’s focus areas and future goals, and Jessica Gerger (President, Friends of Kororoit Creek) who brought to life what corporate support for community-led projects can achieve.

Trust matters. Backed by 35+ years and strong Landcare community connections, Landcare Australia delivers trusted, credible restoration outcomes.  If you’re a business looking to create credible, long-term impact for nature and bring your people along on the journey, we’d love to explore what a partnership could look like for your business.
