Landcare Australia Strategic Plan
In 2025, the Landcare Australia Board developed a new 2025 to 2028 Strategic Plan that has three overarching
strategies:
- Transform Landcare engagement and impact.
- Cultivate exceptional leadership to support Landcarers advance resilience in natural assets and communities.
- Harness emerging opportunities and innovation to amplify Landcare’s reach and impact.
The short and long-term objectives of Landcare Australia are:
- Empowering individuals and communities
- Sustainable management of natural and productive landscapes
- Building resilient ecosystems and communities.
To implement Landcare Australia’s Strategic Plan, the organisation will apply the following pillars:
- Commit to learning from and working with Traditional Owners and First Nations organisations to respectfully integrate.
- Cultural knowledge into Landcare Australia practices and support capacity building for First Nations aspirations for
Country. - Grow and diversify income sources for project delivery and support of the Landcare community.
- Continue to build a highly skilled, professional organisation capable of delivering large-scale high impact projects and
support across the country. - Implement an operational culture that engages with the broader community to find new ways to create and add value to landcare.
- Use science-based approaches and Traditional ecological knowledge to deliver, measure, and explain the impacts and value of landcare.
- Partner with key agricultural stakeholders and restoration leaders to amplify research and innovation in sustainable
agriculture and nature positive land management.
