Stay connected with Landcarer – YOUR online community

Did you know there is an active online community platform especially for people who care for our natural environment?

Landcarer is a place where you can collaborate, connect and learn with people who share your passion – anywhere, anytime – and it’s a COVID-19-free zone!

As the majority of us move to remote working, and the community gatherings that are the backbone of Landcare are postponed, we wanted to tell about more about Landcarer.

So if you want to visit a community where people involved in Landcare, Coastcare, Bushcare, and all the other cares, are hanging out, sharing stories, and connecting with each other – we have some tips below to get you started.

We’re also working on a cool video chat feature, which could help bring your group meetings or catch-ups online. We’ll keep you updated on that one!

Get started

Head to and click on the Get Started button to sign up to the platform. Once you’re on, you can see what’s already happening in the Landcarer online community. You can check out the amazing entries from our recent story competition, see what groups are in the Community Group directory, and look at peoples’ updates.

Share knowledge

We know Landcarers always have stories to share! Why not share a story, video or photos with the community? You can also set up an Interest Group on a particular topic, and invite people from across the country to join. There you’ll be able to share photos, videos or documents with group members. You’ll also be able to start discussions, share learnings, and ask questions.

Webinars and podcasts

Check out a Landcare Rescue podcast – inspirational Landcare stories from around the country, produced as podcasts by ABC producer, Gretchen Miller. You can also check out our past webinars, or register for our upcoming Junior Landcare one. Would you like to host a webinar? Get in touch – we’d love to chat to you!

Connect with people

There are hundreds of people on Landcarer, and what better time to make new connections with people you share a common interest with? You can search for people based on what they’re into in or where they’re based. Send them a connection request or message to start the ball rolling.

Also, if you have any questions or comments about Landcarer, don’t be shy. You can email us at [email protected]. If there’s anything you’d love to see happening on the platform that’s not currently there, drop us a line – we’d love to hear any ideas you have!

Finally, if you have any problems registering, please let us know via If you’d like some help learning how to use the platform, check out for a library of how-to guides and videos.

We hope to see you soon in the virtual Landcare community!
