CHEP Australia entered into a partnership with Landcare Australia in 2019 to deliver strategic projects that align with its sustainability goals of delivering environmental and regional community benefits while creating value for CHEP’s supply chain partners.

Since then, the partnership has helped to fund a project that restores an original grassy woodland community in the Upper Snowy Landcare Network. Additionally, a separate $130,000 contribution was made towards the Landcare Australia Bushfire Recovery Grants, which support community groups and land managers affected by the 2019/2020 bushfires.

The partnership seeks to demonstrate the shared commitment of both organisations to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and to contribute positively to the community.

In September 2020, a $60,000 CHEP Land Management and Sustainable Agriculture Landcare Grant was awarded to the Upper Snowy Landcare Network for a project to help restore an original grassy woodland community, supporting the return of ecosystem function. The project was completed in mid-2021 with the successful establishment of 4,500 native trees and shrubs.

This project brought together a historic property on the iconic Monaro tableland, city-dwellers eager to get their hands dirty, a contractor planting team passionate about land restoration, and a local Landcare group of volunteers, all committed to putting back a large chunk of land to trees. The partnership is delivering a range of positive outcomes including, natural habitat restoration, enhancing biodiversity and building resilience in Australia’s food and farming systems.

It has also offered meaningful volunteering opportunities for CHEP’s employees to join their local communities and regenerate the environment.

The partnership has also seen CHEP employees join local communities on bush regeneration activities through the Landcare Australia’s Corporate Environment Volunteering Program. CHEP is part of Brambles, an ASX-listed global supply chain solutions company.

CHEP helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organisation on earth.
