2018 National Landcare Conference and Awards inspire the Landcare movement to build a better tomorrow
Delegates attending the Conference welcome reception.
The National Landcare Conference and Awards are always a highlight in the Landcare calendar and this year’s event was no exception. For three days, Queensland played host to an array of field trips, presentations, networking opportunities, and knowledge sharing.
Despite the threat of rain, the delegates’ spirits were not dampened as they spent the first day of the conference learning first-hand about local natural resource management, attending field trips that included highlights of whale watching on the Quandamooka trip, wine tasting on the Warrill Creek tour, and walking across the Compton Road Overpass during the Karawatha trip. The field trip attendees loved seeing the projects in action and came away with a better appreciation for the incredible work the Landcare community does.
Back at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, over 500 conference delegates were treated to an insightful program filled with speeches and presentations that explored the theme of Landcare – building a better tomorrow.
