Fire Awareness Awards Now Open

Entries are now open for the 2017 Fire Awareness Awards, with individuals, community groups and organisations encouraged to submit innovative projects that help reduce the incidence and impact of fire in Victoria.

The awards are a collaborative initiative managed by Victoria’s three fire agencies – Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic), Country Fire Authority (CFA) and Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) – with the support of RACV Insurance, ABC Radio Victoria and Emergency Management Victoria.

The community focused awards program highlights the amazing work of every day Victorians who go out of their way to protect homes, businesses, their communities and the environment from fire.

There are seven unique categories that individuals and groups can enter, demonstrating the breadth of work and contributions that happen at all levels across the emergency management sector.

Award categories include:

  • Access and Inclusion
  • Community Learning and Knowledge
  • Community Prevention and Preparedness
  • Government and Industry Diversity
  • Government and Industry Partnership
  • Innovation
  • Recovery

RACV Insurance is a longstanding supporter of Victoria’s Fire Awareness Awards and provides a $10,000 Award for Excellence to the most outstanding entry delivered by community groups, schools, not-for-profit organisations, volunteer or individuals from community categories.

Entries close Sunday, 17 September 2017.
