Free online resources for groups involved in landcare
Landcare Australia offers a suite of free online resources to support and promote your group’s activities and mobilise volunteers to get involved. Whether you’re starting a new group and require a landcare logo, or looking to expand your volunteer base, these resources are designed to help you get started.
Any group involved in landcare activities may find these resources useful – Landcare, Bushcare, ‘Friends of’, Coastcare, Dunecare, Rivercare, Junior Landcare, youth groups, or any other environmental community-led group.
Every year we create resources for the Landcare Week and Coastcare Week campaigns. You can access the templates and campaign information here. If you are looking for a resource and we don’t have it listed, please email us at [email protected]
Landcare, Coastcare, Junior Landcare Group Logos
The landcare caring hands logo is one of the most trusted and recognised brands in Australia. There are rules that govern the use of the landcare caring hands logo to ensure the brand is protected for the benefit of all.
Landcare Australia owns and manages the trademark, including the use of the Landcare Australia, Landcare, Coastcare, Junior Landcare, Landcare Agriculture and other caring hands logos. The Landcare caring hands logo by itself can only be used by Landcare Australia for promotional purposes to support the landcare movement.
As a Landcare, Coastcare, Junior Landcare or environmental community group, you can request a free landcare caring hands logo incorporating your group name for non-commercial or political use.

How to start a group
For people looking to start a group and unsure where to begin, first check if there’s already a group in your area on the National Landcare Directory. This online directory is a user generated website for groups to list themselves. You may consider getting in contact with your local council, Landcare peak body or natural resource management agency to enquire about the groups in your area so that you can connect and learn about the work they are doing and how you could work together. We have created guidelines with tips on how to start a Landcare or Coastcare group in your community.
How to attract volunteers to get involved
When people lead busy lives, attracting and retaining volunteers can be challenging. Landcare Australia has supported The Forever Agenda to create a valuable guideline that offers a suite of training, facilitation and support solutions to help community groups effectively mobilise volunteers. You can read more about their great work here . Together, we have created this Volunteer Recruitment Guideline to help you get started with your local Landcare or Coastcare group.
Branded resources for Landcare and Coastcare groups
Landcare Australia has developed branded resources to help landcare groups, Coastcare groups and other community-led environmental groups start a group, promote their projects, organise events and recruit volunteers.
Landcare Week and Coastcare Week campaign branded templates are also made available every year and can be found here (inert link to the campaign page).
Looking professional and sending a clear message is essential when organising an event or activity, especially if you would like volunteers or local business to get involved. The branded resources include editable templates where you can change the titles, field names and insert your own logo (where the space is provided).

How To Film Your Landcare Project
Sharing the impact of your project visually can inspire support from volunteers and potential funders. It is also fantastic content for social media! You don’t need fancy equipment – just a mobile phone and some enthusiasm.
We have created a tutorial with our film producer Matt, who explains all about the best angles, shots, content, sound and graphics. When you are done, share your film clip on your social media channels and don’t forget to tag us @LandcareAustralia and publish on Landcarer.
